I watched the Dream game again (as I do all the games), and I took particular interest in the way Sloot has started to play lately.

If you watched the game on Live Access you heard EP say she really likes playing with Sloot and she thinks Sloot's one of the best.

The things that I've really noticed is she:

*Directing the offense much better.

*No longer picks up her dribble when facing tough defenses.

*Is shooting and penetrating better every game.

*Is really getting much better with crossover and hesitation dribble

*Is passing better every game. (the Gonzaga type passing she's known for).

Some things I hope Pokey is seeing that will help Sloot is that there are too many times the double team comes and there's no communication or no one comes to help her get rid of the ball.

Sloot still has to work on passing it in to Big Syl...some times her passes are just too flat.

Her free throw shooting needs to get better too...she's only about 62% there.

At this point amongst WNBA guards  Sloot is:

*8th in assist

*29th in scoring

*15th in steals

*8th in TOs

* 21st in minutes

She's gonna get there though Thumbs%20Up

I have a funny idea that Pros sometimes miss free throws to keep fan interest. If they were always money it would get kind of perfunctory.  The NBA was notorious for 50% free throwing for the longest time. Kind of in line with my theory.   Though players in a game get tired. And that could explain why what should be such a easy shot, isn't.
In the long run. It's better to have a bad outcome doing things right.Than a good one doing things wrong.

When it comes to free throw shooting I think players just don't commit to having a complete game.I don't think it has to do with anything but focus and commitment to that part of their game and how vital it can be.

You see players fail because of pressure free throw shooting...and then you see players fail because they don't emphasize free throw shooting.

It was nice to see Sloot make Harding work on the defensive end. She took Harding a couple of times and Harding end up fouling her one of those times. Sloot played with some confidence Sunday evening, that's for sure. I want her to continue it. Cause you see it really helps the team when she does.

Consistency is the key. And I truly believe she needs to work on her endurance, she gets way to winded in my opinion.
JUST WIN THAT IS ALL

You people have better vision than me because Sloot is not playing with the aggressiveness or the productivity of a WNBA starter. She is about to turn the corner right into an on coming truck!

She really struggled against Indy. At least she was putting shots up, but nothing would fall. And the turnovers again killed us--and that wasn't all on Sloot.

I'm not giving Sloot a free pass by any means, but this roster, particularly without Prince, is very poorly suited for her. She doesn't have shooters to pass to, the team doesn't run, and Prince was the only player capable of creating for herself.

Let's hope she can find her shot over the Olympic break. Sloot was never a great shooter, but this is as bad as she's probably ever been. 51% from the line... seriously?
