It's interesting when Sloot plays well, we lose.

We won Sunday and she played well with 11 assists.

That's true, but when you look up the stats its more losses than wins. I'm very glad she's playing well, hopefully it'll translate to wins.

I think it's a good sign.Pokey managed Sloot well after that terrible game against the Liberty. She protected her confidence. but still put Sloot in games until she could see it was behind her.

Perhaps Pokey starts Sloot against Indiana, perhaps not...but it's good she's playing much better.

I found this very interesting from Chicago tribune:

"I like coming off the bench, it's comfortable for me. I like to be a little bit of a spark for us," - Vandersloot

Even Sloot agrees it's better for her to come off the bench. The difference from her starting and coming of the bench is it takes pressure off her. Now we know she's a bench player. So this off season you look for a "starting pg". I actually feel comfortable having a player like Sloot on the bench for us.

I don't know if I'd say she's a bench player Brit...but that's definitely good for her right now because she has wilted somewhat under pressure.

My heart went out to her in that Liberty game because nothing worked for her. When she fell down you could see how really distraught she was. Good on Pokey for taking the heat off her the next few games.

What I think she's able to do from the bench is see better how she can work her game to benefit the team. So perhaps she comes off the bench the rest of the year,,,and maybe next year she's mature enough to handle the pressure.

Maybe/maybe not. Some players just take longer to grasp the game.

Being a bench player is not a bad thing. Especially if your still getting good minutes. In Sloot's case she's still one of Chicago's top guards. Some players play better off the bench as oppose to starting think Ben Gordon or Manu Ginobili. Being a spark is a great thing, maybe she's found her niche. Because she's clearly been playing better since she's come off the bench.

Sloot did very well against the Sparks...15pts, 7 assists, 1 TO, and 1 steal!!!

She has her confidence back and she maintained under pressure very well.

Looking for more of that!!! Thumbs%20Up

The one thing no one has really dicussed is Vandersloot's history at Gonzaga. If you look at Sloot's stats her last two years at Gonzaga she did average a high number of turnovers. What blotted those high number of turnovers out was the fact her average number of assists was around ten per game.
