Mystics @ Sky GDT

                                            8/18/2012

                            4-16                                            8-10

                                  Possible Starting Lineups

                      G  Thomas                             G  Vandersloot
                      G  Ajavon                               G  Prince
                      C  Snow                                  C  Fowles
                      F  Langhorne                         F  Young
                      F  Currie                                 F  Cash

The Sky looks to rebound on the road after a tough home loss to The Dream. At two games under 500 The Sky cannot afford to lose to a lesser opponent in The Mystics.

The Sky needs to come out high energy and score often. The need to play better defense (which lacked against The Dream) and minimize turnovers to win going away.

Welcome back Epiphanny Prince!!! Look for EP to anchor the defensive charge and possibly see Petro start in front of Swin Cash. The Sky needs to come out with their best offensive punch!

GO SKY!!!

We need this win today. Even though Washington is at the bottom of the east they have still given teams problems. We are suppose to win this one but no game is easy. We need everyone to step up Sloot, Petro, Murphy etc. I know Syl and Piph are going to bring it. Cut down the turnovers and play smart is what the Sky need to do to get over the hump. Let's Go! so happy this is a some what early game.
*Sloot*Piph*Cash*EDD*Syl*

*Stay healthy and make some noise. GO SKY!!

When I looked at the box from last game what stands out is the usual...

TURNOVERS = 21...If you get that down to 15 that's 6 more possessions!!!

It took the Sky until the 3rd qtr to get it going...I don't know if that was from getting back in flow with EP back or what but the offense had no flow.

I think today it's much better. We need Young (3-12) and Cash (4-10) to be better from the field.

The TOs were Sloot not being aggressive and forcing passes instead of beating defenders. Syl not catching high where she should always beat her defender. And Syls bad habit of dribbling underneath instead of a pivot move.

In the long run. It's better to have a bad outcome doing things right.Than a good one doing things wrong.

No Jimmy...it was everyone including Sloot. I've noticed this tendency of everyone to just pass it in to Syl blindly and Syl isn't even posted up most times.

They're not looking before they pass and then there are just some terrible passes to Syl.

I think this has to be worked on in practice! Pokey needs to make them look at the film and see how terrible the pass is! Point out why it's a terrible pass...and in practice, make a habit of stopping on these bad passes and reiterating the need to LOOK BEFORE YOU PASS!!!

It's just bad and you break bad habits by eliminating them in practice.

I didn't get the early substitution bringing Shay and Ticha in. The offense was just starting to flow.
