Sloot needs to be in the conversation for Most Improved at this point.

EDD, good to see her back out there...could have got 2 or 3 more calls from what I saw (the over-the-back on Vaughn was especially blatant) but most importantly, she looked healthy!  Perfect timing because Piph had another lousy game...

PLAYOFF ONE WIN AWAY!

Sloot was tremendous in this game...as well as EP with shutting down Latta and Ajavon.

I like how Pokey adjusted...but I'm puzzled with EP to a great degree. She seems like she's fitting into the offense instead of being part of it...

iNot an impressive game by any means, but a win is a win.

Friday's game should have a playoff atmosphere and be played at playoff intensity. We win, we're in the playoffs!

There were 24 fouls called against Washington and 26 against Chicago. 50 fouls in 40 minutes of playing time - no wonder the game seemed so slow with no momentum or flow by  either team.

As I posted before I was in DC and was able to attend this game. Sloot was amazing - her improvement this season over the past two seasons is really notable. And Syl got her shots once they started getting the ball to her. And yes, Elena played and you never would have known she had been injured, she was her usual top notch self.

It was obvious after the first half that Vaughn was having an extraordinarily productive game and shutting her down was a key. Once they did that and started getting their own shots I could tell we were going to come back and win.

The Verizon Center seemed huge but in reality it only seats about 4,000 more than the Allstate Arena. And it has a jumbotron that is so huge it hovers over the court like a spaceship (beam me up Scotty). It is much too big for the setting. Also, you walk down to the court so they built it in the city on a full two blocks, but much of it is down underground which is sort of strange. Since the Mystics are owned by Monumental Sports which owns the Wizards and Capitals they are promoted with those two teams so it is a very professional operation.

Secretary of Education Arnie Duncan was there as was Sky owner Michael Alter. A large number of Delaware fans came down and they were funny and very sociable. All in all my first experience at an away Sky game was fun. Thanks to wnbarocks for the tweets (she caught me on the tv coverage)!

Yes, we saw you several times on tv. At first it was hard to see you because of all the Delaware fans wearing blue, too. You had a great seat!
Getting kind of tired of the comeback wins. Wouldn't it be great if we just blew out NY to clinch our first ever playoff spot?!

Yes, it would be great to blow out NY and clinch on Friday. I would be even happier if we could stomp on Indiana on Sept. 6th so we had a strong win against them in our heads if/when we have to face them in the playoffs.
