Torn labrum in the hip. No timetable given for recovery.

Hope people aren't still questioning the Gatling pick after this.

Pokey needs to sit in front of reporters and ask questions. Why wasn't the surgery done sooner? Expected time of return after surgery? Is Gatling taking her place or is Avery designated to take her place? My goodness this is not good news.

Just read on line that this type of surgery requires 3 to 4 months of rehab from a tear.

Sad news. Cry

Now Pokey loading up on post players makes sense.

Very frustrating, another season we need to deal with an injured Fowles. More importantly, I feel bad for Sylvia and wish her a speedy complete recovery.

I think the wear and tear players take in our off season when they play extensively overseas is a serious problem. They can't be expected to play 10-12 months a year and stay healthy. I am glad there is a clause in the new players contract that provides compensation to players who do not play more than 3 or so months overseas in the off season.

The players need to make a living and if they cannot get good salaries in the WNBA they have no choice but to play overseas and wear their bodies down.

I was wondering when I saw the draft picks if there was something up with Sylvia. I could not understand why we didnt go for a PG with our second pick, like Simmons. Now it makes more sense.

And we have to play freakin' Indiana the first game - after all of these years of losing to Indiana I have a real problem with that team.

Wow!!! This is not a good way to start. I think it has to mean both Goodlett and Gatling are on the roster to start the season.

I think this is going to be a tough camp for them because Pokey has to get them ready.

As for Syl...the good thing is it was "arthroscopic surgery".

Here's the link:

We know Syl is "The Beast" so she will get back! If you're a praying fan...be praying!

Now with Syl gone indefinitely and C gone, dare I say that maybe we need Swin?

As usual I might be out of step with the group, but shouldn't we trust that Pokey is bringing in the kinds of players that she wants? I think Pokey has earned that chance. A young, big, athletic group with some toughness doesn't sound so bad.

The report that Syl's procedure was arthroscopic and mutually decided seems optimistic to me. As we have seen, there is no need to win the division just to flame out in the first round.

I'm really interested and excited to see what Pokey is planning.

Just because the news was released a short time ago doesn't mean her surgery happened yesterday.

Just a thought

So, all the physician protocols for lab rap repair and/or impingement I have come across are identical except for the title and header. Tells me it's a 4 month process at the very least.
