You are correct BBussan, I would not count on her this season.

Sigur3, If this true, why keep it quiet when the surgery was done?

Maybe they didn't want to announce it before the draft, or until she exhausted all her trade options?

They wouldn't be the first team to do that to keep other teams off balance.

It seems to me that if she was out for the year, they would have said that once they released the info.

This is not how you announce to the press, issues like this. Chicago Sky knows that all kinds of interpretations will come out of this announcement. From the Chicago Tribune; "Sky spokesperson Lauren Niemara said there is no projected date for Fowles’ return but the team expects her back this season. Niemara said it was a chronic injury, dating back at least to last season, and the decision was made to take care of it now."

Three things Niemara said that hit me; 1) Injury happened last season, 2) Decided to take care of it now, 3)No projected date of return

How are we to interpret that form the Sky spokesperson? Dr's say this is a 4 to 6 month rehab.

This is frustrating. After reading this article, I do not expect her to return this year.

Surgery is now being reported was on March 8th and she may be back in midseason. I hope that is the case.

Let's just "hold our horses" here. There are a lot of factors like the nature and severity of the tear.

Unfortunately with the WNBA news doesn't come forth quickly!

I think we should just let the story evolve, because we just don't know enough.

The main issue is the Sky spokesperson at first was given statements to the press as if the surgery was due to happen when in reality the surgery had happen February 8th. This new information now makes sense why there is hope she will be back mid-season. Sylvia has been in rehab now for 4 weeks.

I suspect the Sky did not want the teams drafting in front of them that Sylvia was hurt and they needed a replacement for Sylvia in the first round.

Chicago's first round draft pick makes sense now that the Fowles info has been fully disclosed. The second round pick is another thing. The Sky should have drafted a guard or a wing player that can make an outside shot over drafting Brandon. There were several players available to the Sky at that point in the draft. Simmons, Kulas, Foggie, and Nared were all available. The Sky has signed that Holmes lady to a training camp contract and she has a similar skillset like Brandon's. The Sky had a brainfart during the second round of the draft.
