Sky @ Mercury 9/7 GDT:

THIS GAME IS ON ESPN Thumbs%20Up

                              Possible Starting Lineups

                                  G - Vandersloot           G - Taurasi
                                  G - Prince                    G - Taylor
                                  C - Fowles                   C - Griner
                                  F - Delle Donne           F - Dupree
                                  F - Young                    F - Bonner

The Sky will try to even the series tonight at The Mercury after being overwhelmed in game 1. The question will be: With game 1 under their belts can our Ladies AMP IT UP and meet the challenge?

The Sky must definitely shoot a better percentage and GET BACK ON DEFENSE with the Mercury. They must control tempo and also pick their spots when they can run. Also look for Pokey to experiment with "going small" at times with perhaps Sloot, Prince and Quigley on the floor to possibly spread the Mercury defense.

EDD's status is still a mystery at this point but don't be surprised to see Breland start with EDD likely to sit this game out, hoping treatment will enable her to play in Chicago.

LEAVE IT ALL ON THE FLOOR LADIES!!!

GO SKY!!! Clap Thumbs%20Up Cool

There's no doubt that Pokey has drilled the ladies on what it takes to rise to the challenge after game 1.

I think she did a marvelous job of staying composed...and The Sky did a great job of fighting to the end.

There's no doubt they have to shoot better to win tonight. Phoenix shot a SCORCHING 58% on Sunday...don't bank on that today.

This game will be a dogfight!!! Our ladies are not content with just being in the Championship!!!

We need to regain our composure and come out strong in the 2nd half.

No EDD=no efficient offense and that's the sad truth.  We have trouble executing in the halfcourt without her as it is, with Griner in the game and EDD on the bench it's almost impossible unless one of Piph/Quigley gets really, really hot.

Vandersloot must improve her outside shooting to take her game to the next level. She is already a good passer. She is not considered an elite point guard yet like Bird or Whalen because she can not make her outside shots with consistency.

The West is just better this year. There's 3 teams in the West that would have beaten anyone that came out of the East. Atlanta or Indiana or anyone from the East would not have looked any better than the Sky have.
