If Hamby is a realistic pick for the sky I'm satisfied with that she'll be a perfect fit for us.
Welcome home Cappie now it's championship or bust.

MoJeff is a junior.  She'll be in the lottery next year with her teammate Stewart.

Take a look at Draftsite's draft since those two declared for the draft.

I will not write a mock draft but more of a draft ranking from a Sky perspective. I have grouped the players into three tiers. The first tier are the players the Sky should go after first. The Second tier are the players the Sky should go after the first group and the Third tier are the players the Sky should go after last. Here we go!

Tier One

Hamby
Gardner
Malott
Parker

Tier Two

Laney
Mincy
Gooch
Hoover

Tier Three

Stokes
Burdick
Goree
Doolittle

** I should add that if Harrison is still available in the second round that the Sky should consider drafting her.

Ok Swish...I'll play but I'll do it based on the fact of who I think is available at the 5th pick.

Tier One:
Gray
Hamby
Mallot

Tier 2:
Burdick
Stokes
Parker
Welch

I won't do a Tier 3.

Edit:
Here's to Pokey once again showing she knows how to draft...

THURSDAY'S THE BIG DAY!!!

My 2 cents:

Pick #5: Backup PF
1. Dearica Hamby
2. Elizabeth Williams
3. Reshanda Gray
4. Isabelle Harrison (would be higher if not for ACL injury; I'd like #5 to be able to contribute immediately)

Pick #17: Tweener
1. Betnijah Laney
2. Cierra Burdick
3. Chastity Gooch

Pick #22: 5th combo guard off the bench
1. Laurin Mincy
2. Jennifer O'Neill
3. Brittney Hrynko? (Not really a fan of her)

Please no Welch, when she has the ball she doesn't even look at the basket...

I am sooooo hating it for Izzy!!! The first time I saw her play I said "that young lady is gonna be a monster".

It's so unfortunate the injuries she's had to fight through.

I can still hear the scream she let out the game she was injured in....UUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!

The new players that have made themselves available for the draft have done nothing but improves the quality of Chicago Sky's pick. If you look at all the mock drafts you see, except for Loyd, all the picks will be Centers and Forwards for the first eight pics. Hamby was going to be one of the first four players selected but it looks now like she will be available for the 5th pick. I like Hamby. My concern is how much she can help Chicago THIS YEAR. My belief is the #12 player on this team will get very little playing time. If Pokey believes that Hamby can contribute then I say draft her. In my view there will be no other player, in this draft, that could contribute to the Sky's offense and defense at the 5th pick. If it is Pokey's feeling that Hamby cannot contribute this year then I say draft Izzy Harrison.

In the second round, before the new players got into this draft I believed there were no players that could make this team. However, now I think Mincy could be available for the Sky's 2nd round pick. I have gone to Maryland and watched her play. When Elena played against Maryland, Mincy was guarding her. That tells me she has good defensive abilities. That kind of player I believe could help the Sky. She could be a good pick for the 12th player on this team.

My overall feeling is that it is going to take veterans to lead this team to the WNBA finals. I will trust Pokey's decision whoever she picks in the draft and who she choses as the final 12 players.

I know Swish...but like I said before, Cal played Gray out of position because her inside game was strongest.

I'll admit I don't know for sure, but I think if Gray is drafted she'll show her worth.

We'll see.

Meantime here's a link to the players invited to attend the draft:
